Surviving (and Thriving) In India
In 2015, I travelled to Mumbai for a 3-month contract working with the top modelling agency in the country. That 3-month contract quickly turned into a 5-year stay, and before I knew it I was completely obsessed with India.
Working extensively in Bollywood gave me the unique opportunity to travel the country for work and experience a different side of India. As a writer at heart, I found myself furiously writing notes for an article while sitting in makeup caravans in the middle of the Rajasthani desert, photographing and discussing local dialect in Mcleod Ganj, and even using one particularly severe case of food poisoning as a testing ground for various local remedies.
At the start of the pandemic I was forced to leave my beloved India, and once we can travel safely I cannot wait to find myself hunched over my laptop thumping away on my keyboard in a small cafe on the outskirts of Delhi. Minus the food poisoning.
